PlayStation VR: lifestyle Campaign

The PlayStation VR system provides incredibly immersive virtual reality experiences. To boost hardware sales, we were tasked with creating a set of promotional images that would showcase the player's immersion in the VR world. We designed four images to be used across all European markets, featuring popular games like Beat Sabre (Beat Games), Ace Combat 7 (Bandai Namco Entertainment), Blood and Truth (SIE London Studio), and Creed - Rise to Glory (Survios).

The Process
From the initial brief to the day of the shoot, we had two and a half weeks to pin down concepts and complete casting. We worked with sketch artist Will Tubby and used 3D software (Daz and Modo) to develop a variety of concepts in a short amount of time. Working with the client we settled on the four concepts we would explore with Tapestry and photographer Danny Bird.
Because of the short development cycle, we continued to develop the concepts after the photo shoot. Once the concepts were approved we worked with the game's developers to produce the environmental backplates and ensure they represented the games faithfully. Each image came with its own set of unique challenges as we pushed to capture the excitement and immersion of a Playstation VR experience.
